STEAM events inspire area students

Approximately 60 Oakland County high school students convened at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac, March 13, 2024, when organizers of the 2024 Selfridge Open House and Air Show hosted an event to educate students on opportunities in the fields of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics, with a military tie-in.

127th Wing celebrates unit, base legacy

SELFRIDGE AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Mich.-- Members of the Michigan National Guard’s 127th Wing hosted a military ball in Clinton Township, Mar. 2, 2024. The event brought more than 700 attendees, including Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chief, National Guard Bureau, Tony Whitehead, in celebration of the theme, “Legacy of Valor.”

Selfridge ANGB Announces 2024 Air Show Plans

The Michigan National Guard’s 127th Wing will host the 2024 Selfridge Open House and Air Show on base June 8 and 9. This free event is open to the public and will feature the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.

UPDATE: Selfridge ANG Base selected as next location for KC-46A Pegasus

The Department of the Air Force selected Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Michigan, as the preferred location to host the next KC-46A Pegasus pending the outcome of a planned environmental impact analysis in 2025.

BCC Scholarship for military children

Selfridge ANG/Base Community Council Scholarship – The Council will award two (2) $1,000 scholarships to children of military personnel attached to Selfridge Air National Guard Base attending college or vocational training. Applicants must be graduating seniors or college students with a GPA of at least 3.0 and be able to demonstrate strong community involvement.

Congratulations !!
This is a huge step towards securing the 127th Wing and Selfridge ANGB's
future!
The Department of Defense announced today that from the all of the ANG
Fighter Wing's - only five (5) now remain on the short list in consideration
for bed down of the next two (2) operational F-35 squadrons in the FY22-23
timeframe.
Selfridge/127th Wing is one of those five in contention to house and operate
the nation's newest and most advanced fighter aircraft.
What's next ? The USAF is planning to conduct a 2 week site visit of each
of the five locations in the Jan-Mar 17 timeframe.
The final announcement of the two selected locations is planned for Spring
17.
Again - congratulations to all of you. Your hard work, dedication, and
professionalism have opened up this amazing opportunity to set Selfridge on
a course to be the tip of the spear - leading the USAF and SE Michigan for
the next century.
